We will be organizing some meals for Laura & Co, so if you are interested please send a note to Laura Francoeur, who is organizing (laurafrancoeur@gmail.com)

3) The Rig - it's here, we need it, and it's going up…soon. Thanks for your patience, we're figuring out a date over the next week or so to get it up.

4) CFK KettleBell Club - We are now 7 months out from starting the program, and have a whole pack of animals who are dedicating themselves every month to their fitness. Great job everyone! SPECIAL shout-out to Glen…who knew he would be gone for 15 days in July. So what did he do? He came in 15 days straight to keep his streak alive….love the dedication, Glen. Great work, and great example of No Excuses…

For the newbies, CFK KettleBell Club is awarded to any member who maintains 15+ class attendances for 12 months straight. Upon achieving this, each member of the club will receive a personalized CFK KettleBell. You can start your streak any month…so start now!

CrossFit Hero WOD: Lumberjack 20

We have had a heavy week with a lot of volume…great work everyone! It comes to a head today with an awesome Hero workout. Given many of the movements this week (cleans, squats, heavy KB's, deadlifts), be absolutely sure to mind you back and joints. You got stronger this week, just be sure to listen to your body. As always, communicate with your coaches and scale accordingly.

Great week, all of you...

On Nov. 5 at 1:34 p.m., a terrorist named Major Nidal Hasan attacked fellow soldiers and civilians at Fort Hood, Texas. When the shooting ended, he had killed 12 soldiers and one civilian and wounded 43 others.

Spc. Frederick Greene, 29, of Mountain City, Tennessee, Pfc. Aaron Thomas Nemelka, 19, of West Jordan, Utah, Pfc. Michael Pearson, 22, of Bolingbrook, Illinois, and Spc. Kham Xiong, 23, of St. Paul, Minnesota, along with eleven of the wounded were active CrossFitters in the 20th Engineer Battalion, home to Lumberjack CrossFit

This workout is in honor of these soldiers, one month after the murderous rampage.

CrossFit Kells Memorial WOD: "Darren"

We hope you all can join us for a special workout today...

One of our own has just lost someone close to them. On Sunday morning, Matt Morin lost his friend Darren to a brain tumor. Darren was "the highest caliber of friend", and was taken entirely too soon.

Matt asked if we could remember his friend's life with a workout today, and we could not be more honored to do so.

Matt designed the workout himself. It is long, and it is difficult…as it should be. If you are able to join us today, please give this your best effort. For Darren, and for the fact that life is fragile and ridiculously short.

We are all lucky to be able to do what we do, and to have what we have. Matt…thank you for reminding us of this.

This one's for Darren...

Gear, Swag, Memberships, Macros, Booty and Fun

Alright all you hamburgers & cheeseburgers…lots of CFK stuff cookin'. Let's get into it…

1) Gear - Our Rogue shipment arrives over the next couple of days. Expect to see a couple more rowers, couple more boxes, and TEN more feet of rig for your pull-up/muscle-up/TTB/knee-to-elbow pleasure. We'll be adding this extension to our current rig as soon as possible!

2) Swag - Our latest t-shirt order should also be arriving this week (see the WOD/Blog on the homepage for the design). If you would like one, grab one at the front desk for $25 after they arrive. This one is a tri-blend and I am hoping it is well-received…please let us know your feedback!

We like our new friends at Strange Planet Printing and will be doing a lot more work with them. ALSO, we will be placing a second order with them shortly that will include a different t-shirt design, as well as a new CFK hoodie design. This next order will be pre-order, so we will send you all the images of both items and you can let us know if you're interested!

3) Annual Memberships - Over the past 15 months we have had various inquiries about longer term memberships/discounts, which many of you have chosen. With a few more of these requests recently, we have updated the website with an official offering for 12 months and 6 month memberships (20% off and 10% off respectively). If you are interested in this level of membership, shoot me a note or catch up with me/Erin at the gym.

4) Nutrition - Erin's nutrition program is in full swing, and the first crew of participants is counting those macros, eating clean and seeing results (great work everyone!). We will be updating the website with more resources and info on this program. Any questions about joining the program in the meantime, please contact Erin.

5) Big Booty Judy (I see you, Short) - We are 8 weeks into the 12 week Hatch program. Phenomenal work by everyone…we can literally see people getting stronger (we almost broke the PR Bell last week). Keep with it during this last month and COMMUNICATE with your coaches. Stay safe and lift smart….I can't wait to ring that Squat PR Bell with all of you in 4 more weeks!

6) The Second Annual Tops Ops CFK Westin Farms BBQ Extravaganza sponsored by Tito's Handmade Vodka and KillCliff - Remember the date change! We will see you at Casa de VanHaur on Saturday, September 3rd for some food, booze and fun. Can't wait!

All for now…

"Delta Bravo"

Happy Wednesday errr'one! Quick note on this week...

You may have noticed already, it is a heavy week with a lot of volume. BE SMART. Listen to your body. Rest when needed, and scale where needed. For today, do not feel that you have to go super heavy on the deadlifts or Bear Complex IF your body is telling you not to.

Pay attention to where you are with the Hatch cycle, check-in with your coaches on the status of your back and joints, and proceed appropriately.
